How should I care for my enewton silver and mixed metal jewelry?Updated 2 months ago

We are committed to quality materials, such as sterling silver.  To polish your enewton sterling silver, we recommend using a mild soap and water mixture, or a silver cleaning solution such as JSP Silver Jewelry Dip Cleaner found on Amazon. Importantly, be sure to completely dry the piece before storing. For more advanced cleaning, you may use a soft polishing cloth to restore luster.

To maintain enewton’s bright silver shine, it is ideal that you remove your enewton sterling pieces before exposure to water and before exposure to any harsh chemicals or environments.  The reasoning is that exposure to these items may result in the darkening of the natural silver.   Chlorine or salt pools, natural springs, lakes/ponds, lotions, beauty products, sunscreen, sweat, etc., all contain chemicals, minerals, elements, or compounds that contribute to tarnishing the sterling silver.

Please note:  A natural spring is generally not safe for sterling silver jewelry because the water contains minerals, especially sulfur, that can cause it to tarnish, discolor, and corrode. The heat and chemicals in natural springs, especially hot springs, can also accelerate the tarnishing process and potentially damage the metal.

Best Practices:

  • Remove enewton sterling pieces before exposure to water or exposure to harsh chemicals or environments:  This includes removing your sterling silver pieces before entering a natural spring or any body of water, such as a pool, hot tub, or even a shower.
  • Store jewelry properly: Store your enewton sterling silver pieces in an airtight bag or container to protect them from moisture and air that can cause tarnish.
